    What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a replacement tooth with a titanium screw that replaces the root of the tooth. These are designed to last for a long time and when cared for will last as long as your own teeth. Dentures and bridges used to be the only option but dental implants are much more common and allow for a more convenient and natural-looking smile.

Implants are not normally available on NHS, however, they are excellent value and have an excellent success rate.

    Our Approach

To place an implant, we gently numb the area. We use topical gels, first of all, to make the local anesthetic as comfortable as possible. Once you are numb, you will not feel any pain at all. The implant is placed precisely in the bone close to where the old tooth used to be. Often a small stitch or two will be placed and this will dissolve within 2 weeks.

We have a CBCT Scanner on-site, which allows us to get an accurate 3D scan and speed up the whole dental implant process.

    Benefits of Dental Implants

A dental implant is a long term solution to replace missing teeth securely. If looked after they can last for a lifetime and will look and feel just like regular teeth

Dental implants are a long-term solution and are designed to fit closely to your existing mouth appearance for a natural look. On top of this they will help ensure your bite is well balanced to reduce the load on remaining teeth.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Why Do I need X-Rays?

Dental X-Rays can help us find all sorts of issues that we may not spot otherwise. Things such as jawbone damage, tooth decay, cysts and tumours can be spotted using X-Rays so they are an important part of dental health.

    Do you offer sedation?

Yes, we can offer IV sedation for nervous patients where possible. Please let us know if you are nervous about treatment and we can work with you.

    Are dental implants visible?

Dental implants are designed to look like your natural teeth. The metal part of the implant is covered by gum only leaving the porcelain crown or bridge showing in your mouth.

Do you offer a maintenance plan?

Yes, we believe prevention is better than cure.  Whatever dental treatment you have had it’s important to maintain your oral health at optimum levels to minimise future treatment needs.  Many of our patients choose to join our dental plan to guarantee access to routine care, as well as special out of hours arrangements. How much do dental implants cost?

There are many factors that influence the cost of a dental implant which is why we offer a free, no obligation consultation for you to make your mind up.

    Do dental implants hurt?

The procedure itself is completely pain free due to the local anaesthetic used to numb the area. Following the procedure there is some discomfort for up to a week or so. This is usually managed readily with over the counter medicines.
